Sanky and his staff provided excellent service to comfort and guided our family through some of the hardest times in our lives.23 years ago with our dad, alittle over a year for our mom, and now our stepdad. Each passing has different needs and certain expectations. They were all special and near and dear to our hearts to us in their own way and the staff guided us through the things that happen before the funeral, during the funeral, and after. They were always available through phone calls, text and emails putting our minds at ease. Because just when you think you know what to do, we don't think of everything, each time Sanky helped our family that was on an emotional rollercoaster and he helped smooth the ride out. Sandy is also so kind and understanding. They helped more than they will ever know. We always know, we can trust them in our uncertain time of need and we wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who needs this most precious service.

When you have to go through an experience such as this you couldn't ask for a better group of people than this to help you. They were very professional and gave you all the help you could ask for. This past year our families had three deaths. Griffith funeral home was very compassionate and caring towards all our needs at a very difficult time. When my WW II Veteran Father started hospice the head nurse asked if the arrangements has been made yet, Since they had not she suggested I start calling around to local Funeral Homes. So I took her advice and made a list of 10 local places in White Haven, Freeland, Drums and Weatherly. I started calling down the list inquiring about direct cremation services which was my Father`s written wishes, I cannot tell you my revulsion at the despicable people I had conversations with. They all asked breathlessly if a family member had died. When told no they wanted to know if a family member was about to die. When I would say no that I just wanted some pre-planning pricing quotes you could hear the disappointment in their voices. They then all turned into used car salesmen, offering me today and today only five to eight hundred dollars off their standard cremation costs if I signed up today and the quotes were all high and some downright ridiculous. Finally I connected with Sank and not only did he have the best price he sounded like a really nice human being. Upon meeting Sank he was everything he sounded like on the phone and much more. He was one of the finest, kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met in my life. I really cannot say enough about this man, he is the genuine article. You will not regret entrusting your loved ones last chapter of life to the care and stewardship of Franklin Griffith III.

I rarely take the time to write online reviews of anything. Either something has to be really bad, or really good. Luckily, my experience with Griffiths Funeral Home is in the latter camp. A relative of mine recently passed away unexpectedly in PA and I live out of state. Since I was the closest next of kin, some of the responsibility of getting her laid to rest (and all the other things that pop up when someone dies) fell onto me. Sank Griffiths and his staff at Griffiths Funeral Home were very helpful during the process. I don't think I could have done it without them. They made a situation that was very stressful and upsetting for me fairly smooth, all things considered. Nothing personal, but I hope to never be a customer of theirs again. You get what I mean. But in the very unlikely event that happens, I wouldn't hesitate to call on them.

Dealing with the death of a family member is overwhelming to say the least. The undertakings of what immediately follows easily compound the stress. So many decisions in a short period of time! The day after my father's death, we met with Sank Griffiths to start making arrangements. From the first introduction, I could tell we were in good hands. Throughout the entire process, we received much more than just the expected funeral related services. Sank and the rest of the staff proved that they truly care. We lost my mother-in-law in May my father-in-law wanted to go with Sanke because he liked that he would sit right at your kitchen table to go over details of caring for your loved one after they passed. Sanke did exactly that! Unfortunately 6 weeks after my mother-in-law passed my father-in-law followed. Again, Sanke and his staff were there to help us. They made our difficult time so much easier. They did so much more than help care for our loved ones. We feel like we were cared for us and we gained extended family. I highly recommend Griffiths Funeral home! They truly care about you and your family!

I would like to let everyone know what they can expect when they have Griffiths Funeral Home take care of their most precious loved ones. Sankey is not just any funeral business. He cares deeply for not only those that have passed but for all their families and friends. I have known him for over 45 yrs and you will not find anyone who will treat you and your loved ones with more care and compassion. When my Father passed in 91, I was devastated and Sankey took care of every detail for our family. Over the years he had taken care of Aunts , Uncles, Grandparents and Friends of mine. Every detail was taken care of. Setting up future services with Sankey gives me the confidence that everything will be done in a very professional and loving manner. On October 9, 2020 my life changed forever when my mother passed. 😥I felt broken, confused, heartache and sadness and couldn’t imagine dealing with anything that was coming my way. Sanky made every single arrangement but it didn’t stop at the services. He had helped me facilitate through everything. 🙏 I can’t begin to tell you all the things he has done outside of my mother’s service. My arrangements were very complicated because it included my father who passed away in 2000. My heart goes out to anyone who loses someone they love. Nothing can ever prepare you for the heartbreak, sorrow and confusion. Since I never did this before, and was sad to hold Dads hand as he passed. I would Recommend the service provided as excellent. They came out right away, and were as compassionate and professional in all they did for us, they even called every day to check to see if I was ok. Sanky was a godsend when my mother passed away this past January. Sank was awesome. I pre-planned my moms services, Sank reached out right away to let me know they got the request and to follow up for more information. My mom passed shortly after that and he continued to walk me through the process. He called several times to make sure I was doing OK and his staff took care of all the notifications that needed to be done for my mom. He also got me benefits I didn't even know my mom was entitled to. I would come back here for any future needs that I have before I even looked anywhere else.

The death of a loved one is always difficult. The decisions that need to be made are overwhelming. My beautiful mother passed away in May and it was Sank’s compassion and kindness that helped me and my family through this sad time. He was there guiding us through all that had to be done. At a time in your life when someone is taken away from you and you totally can't concentrate on anything other than the "loss", there are always other issues needing attention and decision which are the last thing on your mind, you hear Sanke right there saying, "they are taken care of, don't worry" . From the day she passed to the day of the funeral and beyond, our family felt “taken care of” and because of his enormous expertise and caring, we were able to grieve and not worry about all the other things that can and do happen when someone passes away. His professionalism is exceptional and although we were so sad to lose our mom, we were so thankful that we had Griffiths and Sanky to help us through it. I would recommend this business to anyone in a heartbeat.

I had occasion to use the services of Griffiths Funeral home twice in the past year or so. My mother-in-law passed away in March 2018, and my father passed away in December of 2018. In both cases I found Griffiths Funeral Home to be caring and very knowledgeable in the process for dealing with the associated paperwork. In the case of my mother-in-law, it involved transporting her to Pittsburgh for internment and coordinating the events in Pittsburgh.

Franklin “Sank” Griffiths and his team were wonderful when I needed them most. My father died unexpectedly during the Covid crisis in Pennsylvania. I live in California and had to arrange funeral services from afar because I was unable to travel. A local person in Carbon County recommended Griffiths saying they provided more of a “family experience“ than other funeral homes in the area. I absolutely agree. Sank and his assistant Sandy were in regular touch with me by phone, email and text throughout the process. They were always kind and helpful and went above and beyond, even though I was not paying for a full service funeral – just cremation and delivery of ashes. The in-house cremation was less than any other crematory I called, and Sank delivered the ashes personally to a cemetery 90 minutes from the funeral home without charging extra and without trying to sell me an expensive urn. My father would have wanted a simple burial. They also help with veterans death benefits including a free grave marker. I arranged my mom’s funeral one year before and paid thousands of dollars more for service that was nowhere near as friendly at a funeral home in Chester County. I highly recommend Griffiths to anyone needing funeral services in eastern Pennsylvania. Thanks Sank!

It was a terrible time for us in 2020 with the loss of two close family members in less than three weeks. We felt very safe and comforted by Sank and his staff. They know how to take care of everything, above and beyond the burial procedures -- and there is so much you cannot think of or process when you are shocked by grief. Sank seems to know everyone and has excellent advice regarding the myriad issues that come up after a death. On June 13, 2018 my daughter passed and it was shocking to loose my daughter at the age of forty-three. Not expected, I needed help and received it from E. Franklin (Sank) Griffiths III. He helped me to make all the decisions that I am not at all sorry for and am grateful to have had the help I needed at such a time. On June 4, 2019 my mother passed and once again our FRIEND, Sank guided us through with everything. And it was everything my Mother would have wanted. Thank-you Sank once again. But then on August 26, 2019 once again another great loss. Prior on August 23 my husband was put on hospice and although my husband was diagnosed with cancer on June 12, 2018-we still made no arrangements on what was going to be done and my husband was suddenly passing fast. I could not leave my husband’s side and when I called Sank and told him I could not leave my husband’s side to pick a grave site or for any reason, my now GREAT FRIEND, took care of everything as my husband would of wanted it. I could not have asked for better help in my lost times of sorrow. I miss every one of them but I know that their final day was one that depicted them in a way that all that loved them felt they saw their face in the whole funeral. So I want to thank Sank and Mr. Jeffries who has been our long time family funeral director. We are all family and I pray others do not have to go through loosing a loved one but if you do I would recommend Sank to anyone, and Mr. Jeffries if in Weatherly but Sank is affiliated with many funeral homes. In the end I am sure you too will thank Sank.

When my WW II Veteran Father started hospice the head nurse asked if the arrangements has been made yet, Since they had not she suggested I start calling around to local Funeral Homes. So I took her advice and made a list of 10 local places in White Haven, Freeland, Drums and Weatherly. I started calling down the list inquiring about direct cremation services which was my Father`s written wishes, I cannot tell you my revulsion at the despicable people I had conversations with. They all asked breathlessly if a family member had died. When told no they wanted to know if a family member was about to die. When I would say no that I just wanted some pre-planning pricing quotes you could hear the disappointment in their voices. They then all turned into used car salesmen, offering me today and today only five to eight hundred dollars off their standard cremation costs if I signed up today and the quotes were all high and some downright ridiculous. Finally I connected with Sank and not only did he have the best price he sounded like a really nice human being. Upon meeting Sank he was everything he sounded like on the phone and much more. He was one of the finest, kindest, most compassionate people I have ever met in my life. I really cannot say enough about this man, he is the genuine article. You will not regret entrusting your loved ones last chapter of life to the care and stewardship of Franklin Griffith III.

Sanky's compassion and professionalism of handling my sister's sudden death out of state, made a sorrowful, chaotic time much easier to bear. His knowledge and skill simplified the process and in the end, my sister's military funeral service was a beautiful honorable tribute to her life.. Thank you Sank! You deserve to take a bow!
