William J Kubilus, age 74, of Willing St., Tamaqua, died Friday, May 13, 2016, at St. Luke's University Hospital, Bethlehem.
Bill retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service and he served in Naval Intelligence N.S.A. from 1959-1983. He had also sold real estate in Hawaii.
He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., St John XXIII Parish, Tamaqua and also a member of Tamaqua Elks, E. End Fire Co. lifetime member, Tamaqua American Legion Post 173, U.S. Naval Reserve and Navy Cryptographic Association.
Bill was a 1959 Tamaqua Area High School graduate and he attended University of Maryland, University of Hawaii and University of Guam.
Born in Coaldale, he was the son of the late William J. Kubilus and the late Nellie (Cutcavage) Kubilus.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia (Kubilus) Plasko on 3-24-2012.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. 307 Pine St., Tamaqua, Pa at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 18, 2016, Reverend John Frink to officiate.
Interment with Military Honors will be at SS Peter & Paul R.C.C.C., Owl Creek, Tamaqua.
