Shirley Mae Kaiser, 92, of Orwigsburg Street, Tamaqua, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Andreas, Pennsylvania, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Born in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Grace (Moyer) Pursel. Shirley was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Christian H. Kaiser Jr.; her son, Jeffrey A. Kaiser; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Kaiser; her sisters, Margaret Carr, Carol Scott, and Patricia Paul; and her brothers, Robert, Thomas, James, William, and Chester Pursel.
Shirley is survived by her son, Christian H. Kaiser III; her daughters, Beth Risser and her husband Steve, and Cindy Sedlock and her husband Martin; her brother, David Pursel and his wife Margie; seven grandchildren, Bridgit, Chris, Justin, Jennifer, Amy, Martin, and Tony; and nine great-grandchildren, Christian, Evan, Brooke, Briley, Landry, Leighton, Lane, Simon, and Ethan. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A devoted lifelong member of St. John U.C.C .of Tamaqua, Shirley served faithfully as a deacon and elder on the church consistory. She spent many years overseeing the church's catering society, through which she extended the church's benevolence to the local community by organizing funeral dinners, school banquets, and family events. She was honored with the title Elder Emeritus due to her many years of service to the church. Shirley was also an active member of the Tamaqua, and Rush Township senior citizens groups, where she enjoyed taking group trips and playing bingo. She was an avid reader who loved decorating her home for the holidays and took special joy in adding new snowmen to her cherished Christmas collection.

A Funeral service will be at 11 o'clock A.M. on Thursday June 11, 2026 from the funeral home. A calling will be held on Wednesday evening June 10, 2026 at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00, and on the morning of services from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
