Robert
Taylor
July 29, 1961 – May 29, 2026
Robert John Taylor, 64 years of age, of Jim Thorpe PA passed away on May 29, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Robert was born on July 29, 1961 in Philadelphia to the late William and Eleanor Taylor. Bob married the love of his life, Debra-Joan Wenderwicz on March 12, 1983 and they went on to create a beautiful life together.
He is remembered by his daughters, Alicia, Melissa (Zack Baker) and Kelly; his four grandchildren whom he adored, Jayda Rose, Emily, Grace and Eva-Joan. Robert is also survived by his 5 siblings William (Noreen), Sarah (Steve), Tim (Mimi), Renee and last but not least, Anthony; and many adored cousins, nieces and nephews.
Robert worked as a machinist for 24 years. He also knew from a young age that he would one day take care of his brother Anthony who has Down Syndrome (along with his wife Debra). Robert lived up to his word and dedicated his life to be his caretaker despite himself suffering from MS. He never once appeared burdened by the task of caring for Tony. In fact, he expressed appreciation for the opportunity. Loved ones watched Bob silently suffer with the pains and discomforts of MS all while being a caretaker, father, and husband… and he was brilliant in every capacity. Always with a hearty sense of humor and modesty, he did everything with full fervor.
Bob loved life. He loved God, his family and friends. He was so proud of his Irish heritage and had the privilege to travel to Ireland with family to see where the family unit started. Music and nature were some of the things that filled his soul. He also bled green and during football season there are many Images of him donned in green at a podium, delivering thoughtful and hysterical Eagles tributes.
Bob was incredibly talented and built gorgeous ponds, handmade furniture, frames, and loved wood working. He had a brilliant mind and was the master story teller of the family. He spoke with wisdom, passion and a wicked sense of style and humor.
Robert was loved by so many and was a pillar in his community. Although we grieve for him and feel the massive loss of his presence, we feel grateful that he is no longer suffering in pain. He is finally home, with our Lord Jesus Christ. A life well lived and a job well done. We will see you again.
An Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255. (570) 427-4231
