Liam J. Melicharek

It is with profound sadness and much love that we announce the passing of our beautiful, bright, and joyful Liam J. Melichark. At just 9 years old, Liam completed his brave battle with Leukemia on Monday, March 9, 2026, surrounded by the care of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Liam was a boy who lived life with infectious energy. A third grader at Tamaqua Elementary, he was a proud "Blue Raider" on the wrestling mat and the basketball court. When he wasn't competing, he was a master of Nintendo and X-Box, or spending cherished summers at Seneca High Adventure Christian Camp in West Virginia with his beloved "Mom-Mom."

Liam’s faith was a cornerstone of his life; he was an outgoing and active member of Bethany E.C.C. He leaves behind his faithful four-legged companions—Rhea, Odin, and Wednesday—and a community that will never forget his smile.

Born in Allentown on November 9, 2016 the son of Jordan (Leibenguth) Brode. Liam is also survived by; father, Cody Brode; step father, Lane Bieber; siblings, Waylon Brode, Kaydence Fort, Ryker Bieber and Oaklynn Bieber; maternal grandmother his "Mom-Mom", Karen Leibenguth, paternal grandmother known as "Mi - Mi" Michelle (Breiner) Brode and her companion John Zaprazny; maternal grandfather, Wayne Leibenguth. Extended family; aunts, uncles and cousins prayed for and where vital to team Liam.

A Celebration of Liam's Life will be held on Friday March 20 at 6 o'clock P.M. from Bethany E.C.C. Church223 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. A visitation will be held in church beginning at 4:30 P.M. until the time of services. Rev. Kevin Roberts to officiate.
