Joseph J.
Zigmantanis

Joseph Zigmantanis December 31, 1947 – May 21, 2026
Joseph Zigmantanis was born in New Rochelle, New York to George and Barbara Zigmantanis. He was a proud United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era. He dedicated over 20 years to Metro-North Railroad before moving to Tuscarora, Pennsylvania, where he made his home.
He was a man of simple and deep pleasures — his morning newspaper, a lifelong passion for politics, and a genuine love of coins, trains, and planes that spoke to his curiosity about history and the world. History films, Yankee games and classic Westerns filled his evenings, and no music moved him quite like the voice of Frankie Valli.
But nothing defined him more than his family. His granddaughter Riley was, as he liked to say, his "little buddy."
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Zigmantanis; his granddaughter, Riley Butigan; and his brother, George Zigmantanis. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Zigmantanis; his father, George Zigmantanis; and his brother, Edward Zigmantanis.
Joseph will forever be missed by all who loved him.
