IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harold R.
Coombe
April 27, 1933 – March 24, 2026
Harold R. Coombe, 92 years of age, of Mahoning Township, Lehighton, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at St. Luke's Carbon Campus.
Born in Palmerton on April 27, 1933, he was the son of the late Russell and Cora (Miller) Coombe. Harold was a proud Korean War Veteran, serving honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, he enjoyed a long career at the New Jersey Zinc Company in Palmerton until his retirement.
A man of deep roots and simple pleasures, Harold was a lifetime member of the Mahoning Township Fire Company and a faithful member of St. Peter’s Church of West Penn. He found his greatest joy in the outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or tending to his legendary garden. A true master of his craft, he took pride in starting his own plants from seed—a skill he honed during his years at Sensinger's.
Harold was reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 58 years, Doris Mae (Hill) Coombe, who passed in 2013, as well as his brother, Oliver Coombe.
His legacy lives on through his son, Scott H. Coombe and wife Charlene; his sister-in-law, Edith Coombe; and the grandchildren who dearly loved their "Pappy": Chris and his wife Erin, Daniel and his companion Meagan Tassone, Shane and his wife Yvonne. He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Madison and Liam, who brought him great pride.
