Harold B Boyer, age 90, of Dock Meadows in Hatfield, PA, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Yeager) Boyer.
Harold was a 7th grade math teacher, retiring from the Tamaqua Area School District in 1985.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served during WWII and the Korean War.
Harold was a 1943 Tamaqua High School graduate and a graduate of East Stroudsburg State College.
He was a member of Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill and Tamaqua American Legion Post #173.
Born in Brockton on September 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Harold Y. Boyer and the late Ethel M. (Schoener) Boyer.
He is also survived by his 2 daughters, Tana and her husband, Lewis Erbe of Rising Sun, MD and Jane and her husband, Robert Reagan of Telford, PA.;
5 grandchildren:
Lindsay Erbe, Adrienne Phillips, Lewis B. Erbe, Hannah Reagan and Erin Reagan;and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was a life-long Phillies fan, avid golfer, supporter of TAHS sports, and loved to attend sporting events and concerts to encourage his children and grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, May 23, 2016.
Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 23, 2016, Reverend Leon Morgan to officiate.
Interment with Military Honors will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua.
