Gloria Lafferty (Hlavaty) Carpency, age 83, of Tamaqua, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, in Tamaqua.

Widow of Louis J. "Carpy" Carpency, who died on March 26, 2008.

A Tamaqua High School graduate, Gloria was a member of SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua.

Gloria, was active in the St. Peter's Retirees of Mantzville, Panther Valley Golden Agers, and New Ringgold Seniors, she was a Red Hatter.

The daughter of the late Frank Hlavaty and the late Mary (Gober) Hlavaty- Krunglevich.

She is survived by her

Two Sons,
Frank M. Carpency and his wife Sindy of Gaithersburg, Md.,
David S. Carpency and his wife Theresa of Allentown;

Seven grandchildren, Jobi Westhoven and her husband Kevin, Jill Keenan and her husband Michael, Mandy Carpency-Schlosburg and her husband Russ, Ian Carpency, Scott, Stacey, and Kelly Carpency;

Six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Gavin and Morgan Keenan, Ethan and Riley Schlosburg, and Brendan Westhoven;

Preceded in death by a step-father, Peter Kruglevich.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,

The family will receive friends from 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2012, at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., 307 Pine Street Tamaqua.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. at 10 o'clock AM, Saturday, November 17, 2012, Rev. William Linkchorst to officiate.

Interment Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua.
