George D. Nyer, 87 years of age of Quakake Road Weatherly, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Widower of Marlene S. (Warren) Nyer who died on April 19, 2013.
A Weatherly High School graduate George served honorably in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. Retiring from PP&L, George was a life long generational farmer, raising Dairy Herds, and cultivating Trees.
Born Tuesday, January 31, 1928 in Hazleton , Pennsylvania. the son of the late Wilbur and Catherine (Schmidt) Nyer.
Surviving are sons,
Jeffrey G. Nyer,
Carl R. Nyer and his wife Theresa;
Daughter,
Lynn K. Nyer all of Weatherly;
Brother, William Nyer and his wife Mary Ann of Red Lion;
Four grand children, Adam. Jared, Lee, and Will;
Preceded in death by a brother, Warden Nyer.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 211 First Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255.
