IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn
Weller
May 4, 1950 – February 5, 2026
Evelyn Weller, 75, of New Ringgold, passed away February 5, 2026 at Orwigsburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, after a prolonged illness.
She was the wife of K. Christopher “Chris” Weller. They were married 51 years last December 21.
Born 5/4/50, in West Germany, she was the daughter of the late Hildegard and Emil K. Kunzmann.
In 1957, Evelyn moved to America with her parents. After the family spent a brief time in Rhode Island, Evelyn lived with her parents in Queens until her marriage to Chris in 1974.
Evelyn graduated from Martin Luther High School in 1968. After spending a year at Thiel College in Pennsylvania, she graduated from Wagner College, on Staten Island, in 1972. Immediately after college, she became a teacher at Saint John’s Lutheran School on Staten Island, where she continued in that role until she had her first of three children in 1976. Thereafter, she was a full-time stay-at-home mom for several years.
Several years after moving to NJ in 1980, with Chris and the kids, Evelyn became a teacher at Dayspring Day Care Center and Metuchen Christian Academy, both on the Metuchen Assembly of God campus. Also, during her New Jersey years, she was active as a Lutheran Sunday School teacher and an Assembly of God Missionettes Girls Club leader.
After retiring to New Ringgold, Pennsylvania in 2005, she continued to be active in Christian ministries such as being a teacher at The Good News Club at West Penn Elementary School. She also served as a volunteer at Blue Mountain Christian Retreat’s blessing shop. Her church, where she had been a Sunday teacher for many years, was Living Stone Fellowship in New Tripoli.
Evelyn loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed creating crafts and sharing those creations with her loved ones, from knitting and crocheting gifts such as scarves, hats, and afghans, to crafting delicious family meals.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, are:
· Her son Karl C. Weller of Edison, NJ.
· Her son Kevin C. Weller and his partner Jessica Brann of Jersey City, NJ.
· Her daughter Karen C. Marchitto and her husband Louis of Shrewsbury, NJ.
