Emily (Dolly) Eleanor
Kamant
August 3, 1939 – April 2, 2026
It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Emily (Dolly) Eleanor Kamant (Keich). She left this world peacefully, surrounded by her grandchildren, on April 2, 2026, at the age of 86. Dolly was a short- term guest at Orwigsburg Center. Born August 3, 1939, in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emily Burkert. Dolly was more than a grandmother—she was the heart of our family, a gentle guide, and a constant we all had our entire lives. Her house was where the best childhood memories took place. The laughter we shared, stories she told us, and wisdom she shared will forever hold a special place in our hearts. She taught us the value of kindness, the strength in patience, and the joy of simple moments. She loved to travel, attend Bingo, and play slot machines at the casino. She had a profound love for animals, especially dogs. Dolly lived a life rich in love and generosity. She devoted herself to her family, friends, and as an aide to many her entire career, always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down, the games and songs she taught us, and the love she poured into every person she met. Our multiple calls with her weekly will be missed beyond measure. She is survived by her son, John, grandchildren, Jeremy Kamant widower of Andrea Kamant, Jill Linder wife of Sean, Jodi Koch wife of Matt, Jake Kamant and his fiancé Haylee, great grandchildren, Lucas, Morgan, Landon, Mallory, Hayden, Emma, Jack, Rhys, and Joelle Dolly, who will forever cherish her memory and carry her spirit forward. She is preceded in death by her mother, Emily Eleanor Burkert, her stepfather Henry (Big Dutch) Burkert, and her life-long love, Richard White. A private celebration of her life was held at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, where we gathered to honor the greatest woman and the countless ways she touched our lives. Though our hearts are heavy, and forever will be, we take comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide us, like the steady light of a star that never fades, just as she was for us. Rest in peace, Gram. The best there ever was.
