Dorothy M. “Dolly” Christ, 94, of Tamaqua, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Luke’s University Medical Center in Bethlehem. Born in Middleport on February 3, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Prudence (Workman) Angst.

Dolly was a woman of vibrant energy. A 1949 graduate of Blythe Township High School, she spent her youth as a cheerleader and basketball player—a spark that she carried throughout her life. For 64 years, she was the devoted wife of Warren A. “Weed” Christ, who preceded her in death in 2016.

A longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dolly’s voice graced the choir for decades, and her talent as a pianist brought music into her meticulously kept home. Whether she was competing in local bowling leagues, hosting card clubs, or giving visitors the "grand tour" of her cherished porcelain doll collection, Dolly made everyone feel welcome.

Dolly was also predeceased by; siblings, Leo “Ted” Angst, James “Jimmy” Angst, Mary Traub, Robert Angst, Grace Fees, Beverly “Kitty” Hallick and Richard “Dick” Angst, Margaret “Peggy” Moyer, Ruth Rescorla, David Angst, Roy “Mickey” Angst, John “Bud” Angst, Barbara Dalvet, and at birth, Charles and Violet Angst.

Surviving are; sons, David W. Christ and his wife Lila of Tamaqua, Ricky T. Christ and his wife Liz of New Tripoli; grandchildren, Richard Christ and his wife Ann Marie, Jake Christ and his wife Alexis, Caroline Christ; great grandchildren, Blaine and Julia; brothers, Bruce “Bussy” Angst and Allen Angst. Many nieces and nephews also survive Dolly.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 22 at 11 o'clock A.M. from the funeral home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.

Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
