Donald A. Hoegg passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023, at the age of 97.
 
 
 He was the son of Augustus W. Hoegg and Marguerite Krapf Hoegg. Donald was
 
 married to Edith Davies Hoegg, who passed away in 2005. They were married for
 
 56 years. Shortly after marriage they located in Weatherly where they lived for
 
 54 years.
 
 
 Donald was also preceded in death by his brother Robert Hoegg, daughter-in-law
 
 Linda, and his nephew Allan.
 
 
 Born in Hazleton, PA on May 12 th , 1926, Donald graduated from Hazleton High
 
 School in 1944.
 
 
 Donald proudly served during World War II as an Aerial Photographer with 91 st
 
 Reconnaissance Squadron.
 
 
 After having a photography studio in Weatherly for several years, he worked at
 
 the Weatherly Foundry. He was then employed with Dorr Oliver for 26 years, twenty-
 
 two of those years he served in several supervisor capacities. He ended his career
 
 with the firm working from their corporate headquarters in Stamford, CT as the
 
 Corporate Manager of Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Workers Compensation.
 
 
 Donald was a member of several professional organizations including The
 
 American Society of Safety Engineers, The Lehigh Valley Chapter of the National
 
 Safety Council where he served as chapter president, The North Central Penn
 
 Safety Council as a founding member and chapter’s first president, and the
 
 National Fire Protection Association.
 
 
 In addition to serving on the Weatherly Borough council for two terms, Donald served
 
 five terms on Zion's Lutheran Church council in Weatherly.
 
 
 Donald enjoyed many hobbies that included wood working, model railroading,
 
 gardening, ceramics, and photography.
 
 
 He is most proud of the family that he and Edith had together. He is survived by
 
 his six children, Janet of South Paris, ME, Don of Allentown, PA, Susan and her
 
 husband Tom of Conyngham, PA, Brian and his wife Cindy of Fuquay-Varina, NC,
 
 Cindy of Havertown, PA, and Bruce and his wife Sue of Weatherly, PA. Eleven
 
 grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

 Interment with Military Honors Union Cemetery Weatherly, Pennsylvania Following the Church service.
