IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beth Diane
Goida
February 7, 1951 – January 3, 2026
Beth D. (Freed) Goida, 74, formerly of Lansford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in the home of her son Toby, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the wife of the late John “Gabby” Goida, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her infant grandson, Andrew Snyder.
Born on February 7, 1951, in Schuylkill County, Beth was the beloved daughter of the late Elwood “Mick” and Irene (Brown) Freed. A proud graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Beth dedicated many years to raising her family as a stay-at-home mother. Later, she followed her calling to care for others, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked at the former Gnaden-Huetten Nursing Home, where she was known for her compassion, kindness, and gentle spirit. In her later years, Beth returned to Orwigsburg to be closer to her siblings, cherishing the time spent with family.
Beth had a creative soul and a joyful heart. She loved arts and crafts, especially ceramics and painting, and her creativity could be seen throughout her home and in the many pieces she lovingly shared with friends and family. She was well known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and unforgettable sense of humor. A gifted prankster, Beth never lost her playful spirit—even throughout her final battle. Her family takes comfort in believing that she has simply taken her mischief and shenanigans to the next level.
Above all else, Beth’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her loving children: Terri, wife of Edward Edge, Jr. of Wilmington, DE; Timothy, husband of Amy (Bodyl) Goida of Myrtle Beach, SC; Tara, wife of Chris Snyder of Summit Hill; Thomas, husband of Casey (O’Brien) Goida of Summit Hill; Trista, wife of Barry Sipler of Knoxville, TN; and Toby, husband of Angela (McArdle) Goida of Lehighton. Beth’s legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Molly Seel, Jared Seel, Piper (Edge) Wagus, Susannah Edge, Karlen Edge, Darren Goida, Mason Goida, Hayden Goida, Samantha Snyder, Hunter Snyder, Beau Snyder, Bailey Snyder, Gage Snyder, Paige Goida, Gabby Goida, Isabella Goida, Garett Gasker, and Pierce Goida, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is also survived by her siblings: Terry Freed; Shelby, wife of Nevin Zehner; Tammy Brensinger; Thomas, husband of Kimberly (McDonald) Freed; and Treasure, wife of Troy Lape.
Beth will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her creativity, humor, kindness, and the boundless love she gave to her family and friends. Her children would like to extend their heartfelt love and gratitude to Toby and Angie for opening their home and lovingly caring for Mom during her final months. Their sacrifice, devotion, and unwavering commitment ensured her comfort and peace, and will never be forgotten.
