Delfine "Del" M. Van Horn
February 4, 1925 — May 5, 2016
Delfine M. "Del" Van Horn, 91 formerly of Weatherly, Nesquehoning and most recently Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania after a long distinguished life.
Widow of Gordon E. "Rip" Van Horn. She is survived by sons, Robert O. Van Horn, Esquire of Macungie, James G. Van Horn and his wife Kathy of Conyngham, Richard G. Van Horn and his wife Nancy of Nesquehoning; brother, Victor Reisdorffer and his wife Yvonne of Aspelt, Luxembourg, Ferdinand Reisdorffer and his wife Juliette of Dudelange Luxembourg; sister, Adele Felgen of Luxembourg; 8 grand children; 4 great grand children.
A High School graduate in Luxembourg, Del was an interpeter for the country of Luxembourg, and for General George S. Patton during WWII. Del, was fluent in German, French, English, Belgique, and Luxembourg languages.
Upon her marriage to Rip, Del relocated to Weatherly, Pennsylvania to raise her family. She worked for Tung-Sol of Weatherly for twenty-eight years as a quality control monitor.
Del was and avid golfer and bowler. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
Born Wednesday, February 4, 1925 in the town of Aspelt, in the country of Luxembourg in Europe, the daughter of the late Theodore, and Ann Marie (Lichter) Reisdorffer. Del was also predeceased by her grandson, Brian Van Horn in 1989

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at 12 o'clock noon from Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania, Rev. Floyd Caesar to officiate.
Interment Union cemetery of Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
