Darlene A. Douglas, 73 years of age, of Weatherly, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at home, surrounded by the tender care of her loving family.

Born on Sunday, January 4, 1953, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Shirley (Schlauch) Harvey. Darlene was also reunited in death with her beloved son, Michael J. Douglas, and her brother, Joe Harvey.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her husband of 40 years, James B. Douglas; her daughter, Jamie L. Douglas and her companion Brandon Parramore; her son, Frank Kapes; her brother, Mark Harvey and his companion Edna; and her sister, Bonnie Vinciguerra, wife of Jim. Darlene is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a large, closely knit extended family.

A proud graduate of West Hazleton High School, Darlene spent her career as a dedicated machine operator for Princeton Packaging of Hazleton. Beyond her work, she was a woman of remarkable talent, known especially as a gifted seamstress and baker. She poured her heart into her family, taking immense pride in crafting custom, beautifully sewn Halloween costumes for her children over the years. Darlene and Jim shared a deep love for life's simple pleasures, frequently taking scenic rides through the countryside. They especially looked forward to traveling to Lancaster and the Crownsville, Maryland Renaissance Festivals, where they joyfully immersed themselves in the festivities and dressed in full character together. Darlene enjoyed the companionship of her dogs Duke and Daisy.

Darlene’s warmth, creativity, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
