Betty May (Schock) Coleman RN , 97 years of age, formerly of Philadelphia, Lansdale, and Bath Pennsylvania went Home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 17, 2026. She has been a resident of Maple Shade Meadows in Nesquehoning Pennsylvania for the last 6 years.

Born Sunday, December 2, 1928 in Reevesdale, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Norman C. and Anna Marie (Haldeman) Schock. Betty was also predeceased by husband Joseph F. Coleman sitting by his bed side in April of 2010 as he stepped into eternity to be with his Lord; sister, Joan Thomas; brothers, John Franklin "Jack" Schock, Robert "Bobby" Schock, Norman Schock; grandson, Jarret Brunner.

Surviving are daughters, Judith Schlater and her husband Robert her caregivers, Jill Applegate; brothers, David Schock and his wife Louise, Ronald Schock; grandchildren who affectionately called her Momom, Stacy (Applegate) Thomas wife of Rob, Sean Applegate, David Schlater and his wife Rebecca, Timothy Schlater and his wife Stephanie; great grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Samantha Thomas, Emmaline Schlater, Annaliese Schlater, Joshua Schlater, Asa Schlater, Eli Schlater. Many nieces and nephews also survive Betty.

A 1945 Tamaqua High School graduate, Betty earned her nursing degree from the Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, supported by a World War II federal recruitment initiative. This launched her proudest achievement: a 60-year career as a Registered Nurse serving hospitals and nursing homes across Philadelphia and Montgomery County. Her life was deeply rooted in faith. During her 36 years at Calvary Baptist Church of Lansdale, she volunteered in the nursery, supervised the church's card ministry sending sympathy, get well and birthday cards to congregants, and regularly visited the congregation's sick and widowed members. Later after moving to Bath, she was blessed to become a member of the Valley View Baptist Church.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday afternoon August 28 at 2 o'clock P.M. from the funeral home. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services. Rev. Mark Worsham and Mr. Timothy Schlater her grandson to officiate.

St. Luke's Nurse Honor Guard will provide their tribute service at 2 o'clock P.M.

Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked donations be made to McKayla Ann Wall Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home, and Valley View Baptist Church.
