Mr. Arthur M. Briese, age 85, of Weatherly, Pa., died Monday, January 24, 2011, at Blue Mountain Health Systems in Palmerton, Pa.
A WWII Coast Guard veteran, Arthur served in the Pacific Theater during the invasion of Okinawa.
Arthur, worked for the Federal Government, and was a member of the Weatherly American Legion Post #360.
Born in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Karl and Emelie (Werner) Briese.
He is survived by his;
Daughter-in-law, Kathy M. Briese of Mich.;
Nieces, Miss Linda Briese of Weatherly, Mrs. Bonnie Gerhard of Wernersville, Pa.;
Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Michael J. Briese; brothers, Alvin M., Peter C., Karl H. "Charles", Frank W., and William Edward Briese; sisters, Mrs. Anna B. Yocum, Mrs. Nora Buff, Mrs. Minnie M. Schietrumpf, Miss. Martha K. Briese; Companion, Mildred Briese on January 7, 2011.
Arrangements are being handled by PhilipJ. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./Sup.
Funeral Services will be held Friday January 28, 2011 at 11 o'clock A.M. from the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa. 18255

Interment will be at Union Cemetery of Weatherly
