Arlene Moyer

Arlene Moyer, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was 90 years old. 

Arlene was the beloved wife of the late Donald Moyer, Sr., and was cherished by all who knew her.

Born on August 21, 1935, in Tamaqua, Arlene was the daughter of the late Archibold and Edna (Behler) Woodward. Her roots in Tamaqua ran deep, and she remained an engaged and devoted member of the community throughout her lifetime.

Arlene’s faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Church, where she found strength, fellowship, and comfort. Beyond her dedication to her church, Arlene made a lasting impact as a den mother with the local scouting groups, offering guidance, support, and encouragement to countless young people in the area.

Arlene is survived by her son, Darron Moyer; her daughter-in-law, Stacey Moyer; her niece, Barbara Parrish; and her beloved grandchildren, Donald and Matthew Moyer. They will remember her warmth and devotion. Arlene was preceded in death by her sons, Dennis and Donald, and by her sister, June Stapleton. The loving memories and enduring influence of Arlene’s life will be carried forward by her family and all who were fortunate to know her.

A funeral service honoring Arlene’s life will be held on July 13 at 11:00 am at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park.

Arlene Moyer will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her kindness, faith, and service to her family and community.
